The ABM Group was established in 1963 by the UK-based Chloride Group in Kenya, with the vision of "Energy Solutions for All." The group encompasses Chloride Exide Limited, Regional Recycling EA Limited (RREAL), Solinc East Africa Limited & Precision Plastics Ltd. Chloride Exide Ltd, the largest battery and renewable energy distributor in the East African region, is ISO 9001:2008 certified, with a network of over 20 branches and 2,000 dealers. RREAL collects scrap batteries, following world-class quality standards, and produces lead at 99.99% purity. Solinc East Africa Limited, a joint venture with Dutch-based Ubbink B.V., operates the first solar module factory in East and Central Africa and adheres to world-class quality standards. The latest investment was a $7.20M funding round on 28th June 2016, led by Metair Investments. ABM has a combined workforce of over 700 staff, recovering over 12000 metric tonnes of lead metal, producing over 900,000 batteries, and manufacturing solar panels with a capacity of over 8,400 kilowatts per year. NAS Plastics, a part of the ABM Group, is the leading plastics company molding plastic products in Kenya, including cutlery, crates, containers, and baskets. With a strong focus on energy, manufacturing, and renewable energy, the ABM Group has positioned itself as a key player in sustainable solutions in the region.
