Agrasys, a spin-off from the Spanish High Council for Scientific Investigations (CSIC), is dedicated to advancing business and benefiting society through the development of value-added crops. The company primarily focuses on developing and commercializing Tritordeum, a new cereal with substantial agronomic and nutritional benefits. Agrasys holds exclusive commercial rights for this crop and manages the breeding program for Tritordeum.
The company has established a long-term R&D partnership with the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture of the CSIC (IAS-Córdoba). Agrasys also engages in various R&D and commercialization projects, working alongside public research centers and independent firms.
Financial support for the company's initiatives has come from the Centre of Industrial Technology Development (CDTI), the Economy and Competitiveness Ministry (MINECO), ACCIÓ, ENISA, and the European Social Fund, as well as private investors.
Agrasys operates in the agriculture, biotechnology, and AgriTech industries. It was founded in 2005 and received a $3.53M Venture Round investment on 10 December 2019.
