Founded in 2005, API Equality-LA is an LGBTQ rights and racial justice organization based in the United States. The organization is dedicated to building grassroots community power and organizing for change within the API community.
API Equality-LA has created a coalition that encompasses a wide range of activists, representing diverse ethnic, linguistic, age, professional, and gender backgrounds within the Asian American community. The organization has received extensive support with endorsements from over 50 organizations and numerous community leaders. Every year, its volunteers engage in one-on-one conversations with thousands of community members, participate in parades and protests, reach out to ethnic media, and organize educational events focusing on various social justice issues relevant to API LGBTQ individuals.
The mission of API Equality-LA is to build power in the Asian and Pacific Islander community to achieve LGBTQ equality and racial and social justice. The organization envisions an inclusive, equitable, and just society where all API LGBTQ people can thrive.
