Brownings the Bakers is an established family-run bakery and savoury factory based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, founded in 1945 by the current Managing Director John Galls Grandparents. The company has gained recognition as the 2018 Scottish Baker of the Year, focusing on traditional craft skills and scratch recipes to produce bakery products, including morning rolls, potato scones, oven scones, and buttermilk soda scones. Their flagship product, The Kilmarnock Pie, has won various awards and led to the establishment of a mail order service catering to customers across the UK. Brownings has significantly expanded its reach, with products available in every Scottish Aldi store, selected Scotmid, Spar, Tesco, and Waitrose stores, 8 Brownings Retail stores, as well as various local independent pubs, restaurants, and shops.
