Established in 1992 and located in Beijing, CSRC is structured with one chairman, four vice chairmen, a secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission, and three assistants to the chairman. It comprises eighteen functional departments, one inspection division, and three centers. Notably, in accordance with Article 14 of the “Securities Law of the People’s Republic of China,” CSRC has set up a public offering review committee, which is formed of professionals of CSRC and invited experts. Furthermore, the Commission has established thirty-six securities regulatory bureaus in provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and cities specifically designated in the state plan, alongside the Shanghai Commissioner Office and Shenzhen Commissioner Office.
As an entity playing a crucial role in the regulation and oversight of China's securities and futures market, CSRC represents a key player within the country's financial landscape, with its regulatory activities shaping the operations and development of the capital market.
