About CIMPOR

CIMPOR is a prominent player in the Portuguese and Cape Verdean cement industry, born from the merger of 7 Portuguese cement companies in March 1976. In 1991, it became a public limited company and was known as CIMPOR - Cimentos de Portugal, S.A. Later in 2012, it was acquired by the Brazilian group Camargo Corrêa. In 2019, CIMPOR was acquired by OYAK, one of the largest Turkish industrial groups, with a substantial presence in 7 geographical regions and an annual production capacity of 22.5 million tons of cement. In March 2024, Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC), a Taiwanese company engaged in energy, battery manufacturing, cement production, and sales, acquired 100% of CIMPOR. Renowned for its commitment to sustainability, implementation of low-carbon technologies, and renewable energies, TCC is currently the world's third-largest player in the cement market. This transition demonstrates CIMPOR's global reach and impact within the cement industry, reflecting the evolving dynamics of key players within the sector.
