ColdHubs Limited is a Nigerian-based social enterprise founded in 2015. The company's mission revolves around addressing the issue of food spoilage encountered by approximately 470 million smallholder farmers globally. It achieves this through the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of 100% solar-powered walk-in cold rooms in farm clusters, fresh produce aggregation/collection centers, and outdoor food markets. This enables smallholder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers to store and preserve fresh fruits, vegetables, and perishable food 24/7, thereby extending their shelf life from 2 days to 21 days. The recent $100.00K grant investment secured by ColdHubs Limited on 23 February 2022 from Catalyst Fund highlights the confidence of investors in the company's innovative approach. Moreover, the company aims to expand its operations by integrating refrigerated transportation services, creating an end-to-end cold chain, and producing returnable plastic crates to further reduce food spoilage. ColdHubs operates within the Energy and Renewable Energy industries, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to addressing both social and environmental challenges. In summary, ColdHubs Limited's commitment to tackling food spoilage and uplifting smallholder farmers through sustainable and innovative solutions positions it favorably within the agricultural and energy sectors, making it an intriguing prospect for potential investors and partners.
