Entidad Binacional Yacyreta is a binational entity formed by Paraguay and Argentina for the hydroelectric utilization of the Paraná River. Founded in 1973, the organization is primarily focused on the development of hydroelectric power and environmental impact mitigation. Yacyretá is jointly owned by ANDE of Paraguay and A. y E. (Agua y Energía Eléctrica, now Energéticos Binacionales SA – EBISA) of Argentina, with equal capital participation from both entities. The entity is governed by the regulations defined in the treaty, its annexes, and other diplomatic instruments, established both presently and in the future.
Yacyretá, headquartered in Paraguay, operates under the administration of a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee, each composed of an equal number of representatives from both countries. The entity's main objective is to study, project, direct, and execute the necessary works to effectively operate the hydroelectric plant from a technical-economic perspective.
The organization has a strong presence in the energy, renewable energy, and water sectors, aligning with the increasing global focus on sustainability and clean energy.
