Golden Telecom

Golden Telecom is a facilities-based provider of integrated telecommunication and Internet services operating in Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The company offers a wide range of services including voice, data, Internet, and mobile services to corporations, operators, and consumers. It operates an overlay network in major cities across Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, and has intercity fiber optic and satellite-based networks with approximately 289 combined access points in Russia and other CIS countries. The company's four business segments include Business and Corporate Services, Carrier and Operator Services, Consumer Internet Services, and Mobile Services. In December 2007, GTI acquired New Telecom Technologies. Later, in March 2008, Vimpel-Communications, through its subsidiary, VimpelCom Finance B.V., completed the acquisition of GTI.
