About Hartford Symphony Orchestra

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra (HSO) is a renowned musical organization in Connecticut, founded in 1936. With the mission to enrich lives and community through great music, HSO presents over 230 concerts annually. Its diverse concert series and programs cater to a wide audience, including the Masterworks Series, Pops! Series, Sunday Serenades, and Symphony in the Schools. Throughout its rich history, HSO has been led by esteemed music directors such as Angelo Coniglione, Jacques Gordon, Leon Barzin, Moshe Paranov, George Heck, Fritz Mahler, Arthur Winograd, Michael Lankester, Edward Cumming, and currently, Carolyn Kuan, who became the orchestra's tenth music director in 2011, also making history as the first woman and youngest person to hold this title. The orchestra has achieved significant milestones, including performances at Carnegie Hall and other prestigious venues. It has also received national recognition for innovative programming, such as Classical Conversations and Family Matinees. Having already established itself as one of America’s leading regional orchestras, HSO's enduring commitment to live symphonic music and its value in the community presents unique opportunities for potential partnerships and collaborations within the music industry. Despite the lack of available information on recent investments and investors, HSO's longstanding reputation, artistic excellence, and innovative programming make it an intriguing prospect for potential venture capital investment in the music scene.
