Instrumen is a health care startup that specializes in developing Supportive and Robotic Medical Technology for Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS). The company's mission is to make MIS more accessible, safer, and easier for everyone requiring this type of surgery.
At the heart of Instrumen Technology lies the patented Adjustable Remote Center of Motion (ARCM) mechanism, allowing for the creation of various modularly designed passive and active surgery support systems. In July 2013, Instrumen launched its first system, the VESALIUS Position Holder (VPH), a modular, universal instrument positioner and holder designed for single-hand manipulation. The VPH surpasses existing holders in terms of compactness, stability, and ease of use.
Additionally, through the development of a generic robotic platform, Instrumen is working on a series of advanced Robotic Medical Systems. This generic robotic platform prototype is being continually enhanced through R&D activities in areas such as interfacing, image processing, and surgical integration.
The last investment in Instrumen was a Venture Round investment at 31 May 2013. The investors in this round were BAN Vlaanderen and Ark Angels Activator Fund.
