Lowitja Institute

Lowitja Institute is Australia's National Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research, established in 2010. It is the only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health research institute in the country. Named after its patron, Dr. Lowitja O'Donoghue, the institute has been instrumental in leading a significant reform agenda in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research since 1997.
