M2DC is a European-funded project founded in 2016, based in Slovenia, focusing on highly-efficient, cost-optimized server architectures. The project, Modular Microserver DataCentre (M2DC), aims to develop turnkey appliances based on a microserver system, enabling the construction of use-case driven, modular, high-density data centers. These centers can be easily configured, produced, installed, and maintained, providing a platform that combines x86, ARM, GPU, and FPGA architectures for running applications in a cost-effective and energy-efficient manner.
The M2DC project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 688201. With a focus on the hardware industry, M2DC presents an innovative approach to server architecture and data center design, addressing the growing need for energy-efficient and flexible computing solutions in the modern digital landscape.
