About MAD-RAMPS

MAD-RAMPS is an innovative ramp design startup that focuses on providing convenience to ATV owners. The MAD-RAMPS Pivoting Ramp System was born out of the necessity to find a practical solution to the everyday problem of loading and unloading ATVs. The idea originated on a family-owned farm in Redfield, Iowa, where father and son, Dave Pelzer and Matt Pelzer, sought a way to transport their ATVs without the need for a trailer or utilizing all the bed space in their pickup trucks. In 2007, Dave conceptualized the idea of fabricating a "tailgate extension" platform inserted into a pickup truck's receiver hitch, which led to the construction of the first prototype in the farm's machinery shop. Over time, the product was refined through intense collaboration, resulting in the development of the patented Pivot Bar in 2012. The Pivot Bar eliminated the need for conventional ATV ramps, making the MAD-RAMPS product significantly safer. Additionally, the patented telescoping Pivot Cages resolved the issue of storing conventional ramps in a full truck bed during transport. The MAD-RAMPS Pivoting Ramp System is changing the way riders load, unload, and transport their ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, and golf carts. With its roots in innovation and practicality, MAD-RAMPS is revolutionizing the Design, Manufacturing, and Automotive industries.
