About Maine Discovery Museum

The Maine Discovery Museum (MDM) is a critical regional and state resource with a 20+ year history of serving the community. It helps people of all ages to discover the world around them through creative exploration and science. MDM has three floors of interactive exhibits and robust science programming both within and outside the museum. Over the last ten years, MDM has expanded to serve all of Maine, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), through educational outreach and programming, with much of it incorporated into STEAM programming. It is a vital community resource for public science education for Mainers from “cradle to gray.” The Maine Discovery Museum received a $8.00K grant investment on 01 January 2020 from the Maine Technology Institute. This investment will help MDM to further its mission in providing educational outreach and programming in STEM and STEAM fields, contributing to the advancement of public science education in Maine. The commitment of the Maine Technology Institute reflects the acknowledgment of the significance and impact of MDM's work in the community.
