Minaraad is the strategic advisory council for the domain of Environment in Flanders. It brings together representatives from the civil society and independent experts to discuss environmental policies comprehensively. The resulting advice and studies are submitted to the Flemish Government and the Flemish Parliament. The core task of Minaraad is to provide advice, both proactively and upon request from the Flemish Government or the Flemish Parliament, and contribute to shaping a policy vision on environmental policies and sustainable development. Additionally, the council is expected to track and interpret social and policy developments in its field across different policy levels and domains.
Minaraad consists of 24 voting members appointed by the Flemish Government for a four-year term, with the chairmanship rotating annually. The council's advices are public, although the Flemish Government has the possibility to deviate from these with justification.
Founded in 1991, the organization operates within the ESG, Government, and Military industries. It is notable that there is no available information regarding headquarters or recent investments and investors.
