NCCR Digital Fabrication is a pioneering initiative established in 2014 with the aim of revolutionizing architecture by seamlessly integrating digital technologies with physical building processes. With a team of over 60 researchers from six different academic disciplines, the center is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies for the future of construction. This research not only positions Switzerland as a leader in the global digital fabrication sector but also marks the first NCCR focused on architecture and construction funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Based at ETH Zurich and in collaboration with EPF Lausanne, Empa, and the Berne University of Applied Sciences, NCCR Digital Fabrication exemplifies the collaborative nature of NCCRs, which are cross-disciplinary research networks supported by the SNSF to drive strategic advancements in Swiss science, economy, and society. Specializing in the field of Robotics, NCCR Digital Fabrication stands at the forefront of technological innovation in architecture and construction.
