PNAT srl is a multidisciplinary research and design practice, founded in 2015 as a spin-off of the University of Florence. The company brings together architects, engineers, and plant scientists to promote synergic relationships between the natural and built environment. Led by Prof. Stefano Mancuso, along with a team of agronomists, botanists, and architects, PNAT designs solutions to integrate plants in the urban environment and everyday devices. The company seeks to maximize the benefits brought by plants, including improved air quality, food production, and psycho-physical well-being.
They received a €50.00K grant investment in June 2015 from EASME - EU Executive Agency for SMEs. PNAT's slogan, "We are a practice where designers and plant scientists work under one roof," encapsulates the collaborative and innovative approach at the core of their work. With their headquarters in Italy, PNAT aims to continue driving change and innovation at the intersection of design, technology, and nature.
