Founded in 2008 by Ray and Melissa Vandervalk, Red Leaf Organic Coffee has become one of the most popular locally-owned coffee houses in the Woodland, Kelso, and Longview area. What began as a simple espresso stand transformed into a double-sided drive-through, driving business growth. With a uniquely themed menu paying tribute to Melissa’s Canadian heritage, the company introduced popular drinks like the Rocky Mountain Mocha and the Maple Vanilla Latte, expanding to include a fresh fruit smoothie line. In 2011, they expanded with a second location in Kelso, offering a sit-down café in addition to the drive-through, and adding gluten-free treats and milk alternatives to their menu to cater to diverse customer needs. Emphasizing healthy and organic choices, the company's goal is to provide a menu that satisfies everyone’s sweet tooth while being mindful of quality. In recognition of their success, Red Leaf received the Reader’s Choice Award for the best coffee in the Kelso-Longview area in their first year of operation. As the company continues to expand, it aims to offer a unique and memorable coffee experience across its four locations.
