The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) is an independent, international, nonprofit organization founded in 1923. It focuses on fostering innovative research, nurturing new generations of social scientists, and deepening inquiry practices within and across disciplines. The SSRC's work is guided by the belief that justice, prosperity, and democracy require a better understanding of complex social, cultural, economic, and political processes.
The SSRC collaborates with practitioners, policymakers, and academic researchers in the social sciences, related professions, and the humanities and natural sciences. The organization builds interdisciplinary and international networks, working with partners around the world to link research to practice and policy, strengthen individual and institutional capacities for learning, and enhance public access to information.
As of the last investment, the SSRC received a $2.50M grant on January 01, 2023, from the Alfred P Sloan Foundation. The SSRC is based in the United States and operates within the education industry.
