From 1996 to 2002, SGI was engaged in manufacturing color televisions and distributing consumer audio and video products. However, changes in the business environment led to the phase-out of these operations. The company then focused on support services in the consumer durables industry and later expanded into after-sales service, logistics, and consumer financing. SGI has also ventured into professional equipment sales and servicing, particularly in the broadcast and institutional sectors.
In the early 2000s, SGI invested in the broadband industry and built an extensive hybrid fiber and coaxial cable infrastructure in Metro Manila. The company sold this broadband and cable infrastructure in 2012, realizing significant gains and shifting its focus to the mobile digital business.
SGI's real estate endeavors include high-rise condominium projects, office building developments, and budget hotels. The company also delved back into consumer electronics by marketing its own brand of mobile phones, 'my׀phone', which has proven to be a flagship venture in terms of revenues and market presence.
In 2011, SGI introduced 'my׀house', a brand of Modular Technology structures, offering innovative solutions for building various structures efficiently. Additionally, the company launched Green Sun in Makati, a multi-faceted venue that includes a boutique hotel and dynamic event spaces.
Throughout its history, SGI has consistently maintained a strong financial position, enabling it to invest in new ventures while remaining open to opportunities that promise value enhancement for its stakeholders.
