The Fatherhood Project is an innovative venture that aims to address the needs of young fathers aged 18-30 by providing them with training and empowerment in gender roles and parenting. The project's primary objective is to develop an online training program for young fathers, available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Greek, and Icelandic. The approach includes peer training and video production involving young fathers and reference groups of professionals and peers in partner countries.
A total of 40 young fathers will be engaged in piloting the online training, providing crucial feedback for the finalization of the learning platform. The content of the training package will be designed based on positive psychology, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, coaching, and motivational facilitation techniques. Additionally, partner videos and interviews with young fathers and professionals will be incorporated into the training material, addressing the unique needs of each country's audience.
The project aims to produce a central curriculum that can be adapted and implemented in various regions and countries within Europe, thus extending its impact beyond the initial target group. A handbook for producers will also be made available, providing essential information and tools for the production of content related to fatherhood.
Founded in 2021 and based in Greece, the project is yet to receive its first round of investment. The initiative holds the potential to make a significant impact on young fathers, equipping them with the necessary skills and support to actively engage in their parental roles.
