The Humsafar Trust is India's oldest community-based organization working on health & well-being of LGBTQ+ since 1994. The organization reaches out to 7500 Gay identified, Men Having Sex with Men (MSM) and TG/Hijra communities in Mumbai every year through its outreach work on physical sites, social media, and online programs, focusing on HIV interventions. Not limited to Mumbai, HST also builds capacities of other CBOs in 27 Indian states on HIV prevention, treatment, care & support. Furthermore, the organization engages in advocacy, research, and capacity building of LGBTQ communities across India.
Since 2010, The Humsafar Trust has been consulting with organizations, aiming to foster diversity and inclusion. Through partnerships with over 40 organizations across India, the trust has been instrumental in creating inclusive environments, providing support in incidents of discrimination, and instigating policy change. Their inclusion initiatives, such as sensitization workshops, promote SOGI inclusion in the workplace. Although no recent investment and investor information is available, The Humsafar Trust's long-standing dedication to the LGBTQ+ community and its multi-faceted approaches make it a significant player in the health care industry.
