About Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization established in 2012 in Reno, Nevada, dedicated to supporting parks in Truckee Meadows including Washoe County, Reno, and Sparks parks. TMPF's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Truckee Meadows by ensuring the long-term sustainability and improvement of parks. The foundation achieves this through in-park programming, fundraising, and citizen engagement, with a focus on community health and wellness, science education, and developing an appreciation for local parks' natural and cultural history. Their flagship Student Stewards Program is a free, in-park, STEM education initiative aimed at K-12 students, which garnered a grant investment of $978.27K on 03 July 2023 from AmeriCorps Public Allies. TMPF's other notable programs include the Truckee Meadows Trails Challenge, Discover Your Parks Walks, Junior Naturalist Program, Student Stewards Summer Camp, and the Parks Rephotography Project, all contributing to the foundation's overarching goal. This innovative approach aligns with current trends in community sustainability and education, making TMPF an attractive prospect for investment from venture capitalists looking to support environmental and educational initiatives.
