Vancouver Art Gallery: With a foundation dating back to 1931, the Vancouver Art Gallery stands tall as a distinguished Canadian visual arts institution. Its commitment to fostering connections between artists and diverse communities has established it as the largest public art museum in Western Canada. In 2014, the Gallery made a landmark announcement, selecting Herzog & de Meuron for the design of an expanded home in downtown Vancouver. This new facility will double its current size and stimulate Vancouver's cultural community, acting as a focal point for cross-cultural dialogue in the visual arts. As a not-for-profit organization, the Vancouver Art Gallery receives support from various entities, including members, individual donors, corporate funders, foundations, the City of Vancouver, the Province of British Columbia, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

The Gallery's focus on advancing scholarship through major publications and its diverse public programs have contributed to its increasing collections, exhibitions, and attendance. As the principal repository for visual art in British Columbia and related works by notable Canadian and international artists, it continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic landscape.
