VidiMAX is an on-demand online movie service founded in 2009 by Svetlana Belova, who has prior experience leading digital content distribution company Netville and working with cable TV and Internet access operators Stream and Akado. Co-founded by Pavel Rebrov, who brought his expertise as an IPTV business development manager at Cisco in Russia. The company specializes in creating a platform that distributes licensed video content over the Internet directly to users' TVs, offering High Definition (HD) options requiring a broadband internet connection.
VidiMAX is set to launch in the spring of 2010 and will initially focus on targeting Internet service providers and pay-TV operators in Russia with its video content platform. Currently, only about 10 percent of Russian pay-TV subscribers use online movie-on-demand services, indicating growth potential in this market.
The company secured a $4.00M Venture Round investment on 21 September 2009 from Troika Dialog, a notable milestone in its journey towards expansion and market penetration.
VidiMAX operates in the Internet, Telecom, and Media industries, positioning itself to capitalize on the evolving landscape of digital content distribution and consumption.
