VRDREAMS Technology Co., Ltd is a pioneering healthcare startup based in China, focused on revolutionizing mental healthcare through the use of VR/AR/MR technology. The company aims to modernize clinical research, assessment, and treatment methods in mental healthcare, which are currently reliant on outdated tools and therapies.
One of VRDREAMS' key collaborations is with the West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the second largest hospital in China. The hospital's Mental Health Center is a significant base for mental health care, with a staggering 7.5 million outpatient visits in 2016 and over 250,000 mental patients treated last year.
VRDREAMS has already developed VR simulations for exposure therapy, targeting specific phobias such as fear of heights and public speaking. The company is currently working on VR solutions for assessing and rehabilitating children's attention disorders like ADHD, incorporating eye-tracking technology for more objective measurement data.
Looking ahead, VRDREAMS aims to create a comprehensive VR assessment and treatment platform covering a wide range of mental health conditions, including acute pain, anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, neuro-cognitive disorders, as well as drug and alcohol abuse.
The company secured a CNY3.00M Angel Round investment on 27 April 2016, with backing from 北京允治投资管理有限公司 (Beijing Yunzhi Investment Management Co., Ltd.) and CDHTI Venture Capital.
