Founded in 2006 by Benython Oldfield and Sharon Galant, the agency represents writers and illustrators from around the world. The origins of Zeitgeist Agency date back to a chance meeting in Shanghai, where Sharon, managing a chain of English language bookstores, and Benython, scouting Chinese writers, decided to join forces. The agency expanded with American Thomasin Chinnery joining the Brussels office in 2014 to focus on Children’s and YA, and Claire Keenan starting as Agents' Assistant in the Sydney office in 2019.
