Alliance to Mobilize Our Resistance (AMOR) is a grassroots alliance dedicated to providing community support for victims of state-sponsored violence. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in the United States, AMOR works at the crossroads of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and immigration status to combat and end state violence. The organization responds to requests for assistance through its Support Line and connects impacted families to its specialized Support Teams, addressing areas such as Immigration, Community Care, Language Justice, Transportation, and Community Response.
AMOR also engages in campaign organizing efforts, including working to Shut Down the Wyatt Detention Center and advocating for inclusive Driver’s License Legislation in Rhode Island (RI), as well as participating in regional campaigns to Shut Down ICE. The organization's latest investment of $25.00K came in the form of a grant from the Point32Health Foundation on 04 August 2022.
AMOR's mission is to empower communities affected by systemic oppression, fostering leadership, generating power, promoting sustainability, and organizing resistance in solidarity with directly affected peoples. Through its work, AMOR aims to create a space for demanding accountability, challenging injustices, and facilitating healing for those impacted by violence.
