Bonapp, a Romanian startup founded in 2021, is pioneering a solution to tackle food waste under the slogan, "Reducing Food Waste in Romania." The company's innovative app, available for both iOS and Android, serves as a bridge between consumers and local retailers such as grocery stores, restaurants, and more. This platform enables users to buy excess stock or items nearing expiration at significant discounts ranging from 50% to 80%.
Shortly after its launch in November 2021, Bonapp secured a seed investment of 800,000 EUR, demonstrating robust investor confidence and enabling expansion beyond Bucharest. By 2025, the company executed a strategic merger with Hungarian startup Munch, extending its impact across Central and Eastern Europe.
The latest fundraising success, a €600,000 Pre Seed Round investment on 26 April 2023, facilitated by SeedBlink, showcases a continued trajectory of growth and market penetration in the Mobile and Waste Solution industries.
