CILAS

CILAS is a leading high-tech company in the laser and optronics sector, with over 50 years of experience. As a subsidiary of HMS Laser (MBDA and Safran Electronics & Defence) and Lumibird, CILAS specializes in developing, industrializing, manufacturing, and commercializing a wide range of products and systems for defense, security, space, and industry, as well as participating in major scientific and industrial laser programs. Their defense and security activities include laser designation for precision munition guidance, surveillance and detection equipment for the protection of critical infrastructures and VIPs, and helicopter landing aids for naval platforms. Their optical activities encompass the processing of optical thin films and deformable mirrors for adaptive optics. Notably, CILAS is responsible for producing the laser amplifiers for the Laser Mégajoule (LMJ) for the CEA, which are critical for achieving the required energy levels of the laser beams.

Founded in 1966, CILAS operates in the manufacturing and telecom industries, with its headquarters located in France. The latest investment in CILAS was a Venture Round investment on 20th July 2021, with Lumibird participating as the investor.
