CritiSense is a pioneering startup in the biotechnology and healthcare industries, with a vision to revolutionize medical diagnostics. Established in 2004 by leveraging Vital Medical's assets, the company has developed the innovative Critiview device under the guidance of co-founder and chief scientist Professor Avraham Mayevsky. Prof. Mayevsky, a renowned figure in the field, has been instrumental in the development of the device, drawing on his expertise gained from his role as the Chair of the Department of Life Sciences and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Bar Ilan University. Additionally, he founded a center for tissue physiology at the same university.
The Critiview device is designed to deliver continuous, real-time, multi-parametric physiological data at the tissue and cellular levels. It achieves this by monitoring mitochondrial function, microcirculatory blood flow, and oxygen saturation through an innovative optical sensor used in tissue titration therapy.
The latest investment in CritiSense was a $1.20M Venture Round investment, with participation from notable investors including Pontifax, US Venture Partners, Bridge Investment Fund, and Docor International Management. This injection of funds, which occurred on 21 June 2006, reflects the confidence and support garnered by CritiSense within the investor community.
