Cure Leukaemia is a philanthropic organization focused on funding the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) to connect blood cancer patients to clinical trials. Founded in 2003 by Professor Charlie Craddock CBE, Graham Silk, and Michael Woolley, the charity has committed £3m from 2020-22 for TAP, including a network of 12 blood cancer centres in the UK. They fund specialized research nurses to facilitate the clinical trials of pioneering treatments, providing access to new drugs for over 20m patients. The organization also supports the TAP’s Hub at the Centre for Clinical Haematology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. In 2017, they raised an additional £1m to expand the centre, doubling its capacity and providing vital treatments during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to raise funds for more research nurses and expand world-class treatment for blood cancer patients to save lives and eradicate the disease within the next 15 years.
