GRST (Green Renewable Sustainable Technology) is a Hong Kong-based lithium-ion battery technology company, founded in 2015, specializing in water-based manufacturing and recycling of batteries. The company's patented WATMAR³ technology has garnered awards and operates at giga-scale, replacing toxic solvents and fluoropolymer binders with water and a water-soluble binding composite. This innovation not only makes battery manufacturing and recycling safer, cheaper, and cleaner but also eliminates the risk of emissions for VOC and PFAS "forever chemicals" from electrode production.
GRST's technology, which works for all battery chemistries, has attracted investment interest, with a recent £1.00M grant investment from the Earthshot Prize awarded on 07 November 2023.
