Koçtaş is a prominent player in the Turkish home improvement sector, originally founded in 1955 under the umbrella of Koç Holding, one of the nation's largest conglomerates. Initially functioning as a wholesaler of building materials, Koçtaş transitioned into retail in 1996 with the opening of its Bornova store. Over nearly three decades, it has established a significant presence across 50+ cities in Turkey, solidifying its status as an industry leader.
With a strategic partnership established in 2000 with Kingfisher Group's B&Q, the company enhanced its market position, evolving into a successful chain of home improvement stores. Koçtaş launched its online platform in 2006 and introduced the neighborhood-focused Koçtaş Fix format in 2013, expanding accessibility and improving the shopping experience.
In 2018, Koçtaş continued its digital transformation with the development of a mobile app and opening an R&D center, cementing its role in e-commerce while maintaining a robust multichannel sales strategy.
