Læsk is a Danish startup founded in 2016, specializing in organic, handcrafted kombucha. The founders, Line Hoff and American entrepreneur Eric, set out to create a mature soft drink that could serve as a healthier soda alternative and an interesting non-alcoholic option. Since its inception, Læsk has experienced significant growth, relocating to To Øl City in Svinninge and increasing its production capacity by more than a hundredfold while maintaining the quality of its handcrafted and traditionally fermented kombucha with a sugar content kept at around 25% of traditional sodas.
Læsk's mission is to make kombucha more accessible in terms of taste, visibility, and affordability. The company aims to combine scientific knowledge with the art of creating flavorful food. Collaborating with Copenhagen University, FOSS, and White Labs, Læsk's products are sold to a wide range of consumers, including major retailers like 7Eleven and the prestigious restaurant Noma. Additionally, they handle contract manufacturing, bottling, and food testing. The latest investment, a Seed Round investment, was secured on March 7, 2019, with participation from IKEA Bootcamp.
