Ridemakerz, LLC is a unique chain of toy stores offering boys the opportunity to build their own cars and explore a virtual world designed for safe, creative interaction and fun. Since its founding in 2006, Ridemakerz has rapidly expanded, with the first store opening in Myrtle Beach, SC in June 2007 and subsequently growing to a dozen stores nationwide by the end of 2008.
The company's diversified approach to enhancing the retail store experience involves the development of an online virtual world tailored for boys aged 6 to 12. Through this platform, youngsters can design their own cars, engage in driving activities, participate in games, and interact with others in a secure online environment.
An important milestone for Ridemakerz was the $10.30M Series B investment secured on 01 March 2008. This sizable investment was made by prominent backers, including Build-A-Bear Workshop and Norman Pozez.
The additional development of Ridemakerz's virtual world was executed by the Electric Sheep Company, harnessing its Webflock platform, which commenced a closed private beta in December 2008.
Ridemakerz's unique concept, substantial investment, and collaboration with industry leaders position it as an intriguing prospect in the gaming industry with significant potential for continued growth and success.
