SmartPlant is a UK-based startup founded in 2014 that aims to revolutionize the way people care for their plants. The company's slogan "We help you identify, discover and look after your plants. All you have to do is enjoy them," highlights its focus on providing a seamless experience for plant enthusiasts. By offering the SmartPlant App available on both Apple and Android devices, the startup connects customers, retailers, breeders, growers, and propagators through horticultural expertise.
SmartPlant boasts a network of over 150 plant experts from around the world and leverages the latest technology to identify plants and deliver tailored care notifications on a monthly basis. One notable feature is the use of barcode scanning technology for plant identification, allowing customers to scan plants at their home retailer. Moreover, the company has integrated its services with Amazon Echo (Alexa) in the UK, with plans for further expansion into other countries.
Having secured a £273.27K investment through Equity Crowdfunding back in November 23, 2017, SmartPlant has demonstrated its appeal to investors. With a focus on the Retail and Lifestyle sectors, the startup offers monthly care instructions, product recommendations, and expert chat support through its app, making plant ownership accessible to all with just a smartphone and the SmartPlant App.
