SokoFresh™ offers Mobile, Solar Powered Cold Storage ( CaaS) & Digital Market Linkage for small holder farmers. The company aims to reimagine first mile produce sourcing & aggregation by providing access to Reliable, OffGrid, First Mile Cold Storage facilities ( CaaS) & Digital Market Linkage services to Farmers and Buyers in fruit & vegetable value chains. Currently, over 40% - 50% of horticultural produce is lost mainly due to poor storage and handling practices, leading to financial losses for smallholder farmers. SokoFresh™ aims to unlock the opportunity for farmers, agents, and buyers to access much-needed cold storage at the first mile, adopt better produce handling during harvesting, and market linkage. The company achieves this through a 3 in 1 service that encompasses offgrid, pay-as-you-store cold storage, produce handling through the use of crates, and market linkage service. SokoFresh™ was founded in 2019 and operates in the Renewable Energy, Sustainability, and AgriTech industries with its headquarters in Kenya. The latest Venture Round investment was secured on 09 February 2023, with Acumen as the investor.
