Squiseat, known for its slogan "L'app antispreco italiana," operates with a mission to tackle food waste by seamlessly bridging supply and demand through a unified platform. The venture was initiated by four recent computer science graduates from the University of Bologna, inspired by their own experiences in the food industry. The platform connects restaurants looking to offload surplus food at half-price with value-seeking consumers, ensuring financial returns for restauranteurs, consumer savings, and a reduction in food waste.
Launched in 2019 and headquartered in Italy, Squiseat has been in validation phase in Bologna since March, evolving from a small WhatsApp group to a network of approximately 350 users and 7 participating restaurants, with positive initial feedback. The startup has already attracted attention, winning accolades at the Startup Day 2019 and the Web Marketing Festival 2019, garnering support from startup incubators Almacube and The Hive.
Securing a €50.00K Pre Seed Round investment from Nana Bianca on 01 April 2020, Squiseat aspires to become synonymous with transparency and loyalty, while adhering to a green production approach in its operations.
