百信银行AIBANK is the first independently incorporated direct bank approved by the Chinese government, established through a joint initiative of 中信银行 (CITIC Bank) and 百度公司 (Baidu). With the market positioning of "financial management for the people and financing for the public," AIBANK leverages CITIC Bank’s robust product research and development, innovative capabilities, and customer management, along with Baidu’s internet technology and user traffic resources to cater to individualized financial needs, creating a differentiating, uniquely competitive direct bank. 起于2015年11月, CITIC Bank and Baidu announced the preparation for AIBANK's establishment. After over a year of efforts, on December 30, 2016, AIBANK received formal approval from the 中国银监会 (China Banking Regulatory Commission) to commence establishment. It obtained regulatory approval to commence operations on August 15, 2017 and officially commenced operations on November 18, 2017. In discussing the future development strategy, AIBANK's President, 李如东 (Li Rudong), revealed a focus on intelligence and inclusivity, aiming to build core capabilities in smart accounts, intelligent risk control, and intelligent services, targeting underserved areas where traditional banking services are weak or unavailable.
