Aireon LLC is a space-based air traffic surveillance system company that provides Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) coverage globally. By leveraging next-generation aviation surveillance technologies, Aireon extends the reach of ground-based systems to improve efficiency, safety, emissions reduction, and cost savings for all stakeholders. Real-time ADS-B surveillance spans oceanic, polar, and remote regions, supplementing existing ground-based systems limited to terrestrial airspace. In collaboration with leading Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) such as NAV CANADA, Iridium Communications, ENAV, NATS, the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), and Naviair, Aireon is set to establish an operational, global, space-based air traffic surveillance system in early 2019.
