Civics Unplugged is a 501(c)(3) social enterprise founded in 2019 that aims to empower leaders of Gen Z with the training, funding, and network they need to become civic innovators. The organization's flagship program, the CU Fellowship, is an intensive three-month leadership program that trains thousands of high schoolers each year in the fundamentals of personal development, systems thinking, and civic literacy. Civics Unplugged has built a community of young leaders representing all 50 U.S. States and 47 countries around the globe, with 74% identifying as women, 70% as BIPOC, and 22% as part of an active U.S. Military family. The organization's digital-first programming enables almost any student, regardless of their location, to join the community and train to become a civic superhero. The long-term vision of Civics Unplugged is to support the flourishing of millions around the world by the end of this decade, re-imagining civic education and sparking a global civic renewal.
