Dole & Bailey Inc. is a historic company founded in 1868, based in the United States. The company has a rich legacy, functioning as a reliable source of high-quality food products and ingredients for chefs since its inception. Originally operating at the Boston Farmers' Market within Faneuil Hall, the company's offerings included a wide range of products such as livestock, maple syrup, butter, cheeses, poultry, eggs, and fresh seafood. Over time, Dole & Bailey expanded its reach, gaining access to the freshest fruits and vegetables through membership in the Boston Fruit and Produce Exchange. The company's growth and evolution were marked by the transition of leadership across generations. Notably, the second-generation leader, Clyde Smith, played a vital role in mentoring Bud Matheson, a young talent who would ultimately become a Master Butcher and an essential figure in fostering partnerships with chefs, farmers, and suppliers. This period of expansion led to the company outgrowing multiple facilities in a short span of time. Currently, in its 155th year, Dole & Bailey is under the ownership of Nancy Matheson-Burns and is situated in Woburn, MA. The company continues its legacy with the involvement of fifth and sixth-generation purveying teams, ensuring the continuation of its heritage. While there is no available data on its last investment, the company continues its commitment to providing top-quality products and maintaining its esteemed status in the food and beverage industry.
