It was the first platform to list ether (ETH) in August 2015 and the first to list ERC20 standard tokens associated with decentralized applications (dapps) built on top of ethereum, as well as provide direct participation in token generation events (TGEs) or initial coin offerings (ICOs). Gatecoin has been incubated by Tsinghua University and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, and also participated in the SuperCharger FinTech Accelerator sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank, Baidu and TusPark Global Network.
