Healthy Learners

Healthy Learners is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of low-income, school-aged children through a unique school-based community health approach. The organization's focus on leveraging existing resources within schools to provide healthcare services is exemplified by its partnership with the Zambian Government to implement its school health model, reaching over 425,000 children since its inception in 2015.

The innovative solution offered by Healthy Learners involves redefining the healthcare entry point for children by integrating services into their daily environment – the school. By training and empowering teachers, the individuals whom children already trust and engage with daily, the organization effectively brings healthcare directly to the students. This approach not only ensures greater accessibility to vital healthcare services but also creates a supportive community environment for addressing the specific health needs of the children.
