Ingenuity - Chicago is an arts education organization that was founded in 2011 through city-wide collaboration, serving as Chicago's single hub of information, advocacy, strategy, and partnerships to reinstate arts education in every school for every student. Working closely with the CPS Department of Arts Education, certified teachers, Chicago's arts and cultural community, parents, students, and others, Ingenuity is dedicated to ensuring excellence in art education for every student in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
As the lead advocacy organization driving positive arts education policies in the district, Ingenuity is the single source of data on the availability and distribution of arts education throughout CPS. Additionally, it is the chief arts education strategy partner to CPS, co-architect of the first ever CPS Arts Education Plan (approved by the Chicago Board of Education), and co-designer of the Creative Schools Initiative – an interconnected set of incentives and supports for activating the CPS Arts Education Plan in schools and classrooms.
The organization recently received a grant investment at 21 December 2023 from The Genesis Inspiration Foundation, showcasing external support and recognition for its impactful work. By collaborating with various stakeholders and leveraging data-driven strategies, Ingenuity aims to continue shaping the future of arts education in Chicago's public schools.
