Inherent Targeting (Trace Biosciences) is a health care startup focused on revolutionizing surgery through the development of imaging agents. The company's mission is to eliminate surgical nerve damage by providing real-time, detailed anatomy highlighting. Their flagship product is a nerve targeting imaging agent designed to prevent nerve injury, a complication affecting 25 million patients annually, leading to pain, loss of function, and high treatment costs. Currently, surgeons rely on naked eye visualization or anatomical knowledge for nerve identification and preservation. If successful, the imaging agents could be widely used in operating theaters, enabling precision surgery and improving patient outcomes. In December 2021, Trace Biosciences secured a Pre Seed Round investment from SciFounders.
