Liberty is an Australian industrial and manufacturing startup, founded in 2017, dedicated to building a future full of possibilities. The company operates the LIBERTY Primary Steel Whyalla Steelworks, located in South Australia, which serves as a major source of special bar quality and commercial-grade billet feed for the organization. The steelworks boasts a production capacity of approximately 1.2Mtpa, utilizing a Blast Furnace Steelmaking process.
About 65 per cent of the steel produced is transferred by rail in billet form to InfraBuild Steel's Rod Bar and Wire business for further processing, with the remaining steel being converted into finished products like structural steel and rails through the Whyalla Structural Mill. Liberty's extensive experience and expertise in the production of steel rail and sleeper systems, alongside significant investments in their facilities, have led to consistent high-quality steel products being manufactured, proudly bearing the label of Australian-made.
The Whyalla Steelworks is an integrated facility utilizing magnetite iron ore-based feed primarily sourced from SIMEC Mining’s nearby iron ore mines, making it a key contributor to the local economy. In addition to serving its numerous manufacturing sites, the steelworks also produces common and special grade billet as feedstock for downstream rod and bar mills and offers rail and structural steel products for sale. The company also engages in ad hoc sales of slab and billet to external customers.
Despite being in the industrial and manufacturing sectors, Liberty has not disclosed its latest investment details or associated investors, however, the company's commitment to quality, sustainability, and contribution to the Australian railway industry positions it as a promising venture for potential investors seeking opportunities in the manufacturing and industrial spaces. Liberty appears to be on a trajectory for growth and continued success, reinforced by an overarching commitment to enriching the future with possibilities.
