Mermaids is a UK based charity that offers support to transgender and gender variant children and young people, their families and supporting professionals. Founded in 1995, the organization provides helpline and email support services, online forums for parents and teens, training for schools and social services, residential family weekends, local groups at 8 locations nationwide, and engages in campaigning, advocacy, and awareness-raising efforts.
